The ‘Oscars’ of the perfume world The Fragrance Foundation Awards 2017 were held last Thursday 18th May at The Brewery London. People from throughout the industry came together to celebrate fragrance in all it’s glory. The winners received a beautiful award created by French company Lalique, experts in all things crystal. And so, the winners are:
The big winner on the night was Chanel’s No5 L’Eau picking up three awards in total; People’s Choice for Women (voted by the users of Boots.com), Best New Female Fragrance and Ultimate Launch.
Runners up for most awards received on the night were Versace’s Dylan Blue, winners of Best New Male Commercial & Reader’s Choice for Men (as voted by the readers of Mens Health UK) and McQueen Parfum winners of Best New Female Fragrance in Limited Distribution & Best New Female Print Campaign.
Two awards were given to retailers; Retailer of the Year – London and Retailer of the Year – Outer London which went to Harrods and The Perfume Shop respectively. The Retailer of the Year is awarded based on a combination of votes by members of the Fragrance Foundation UK and the results by an independent agency of mystery shops both online and in store.
Perfume Extraordinaire award was judged by the winners of the Jasmine Awards 2017 went to Roja Dove’s Oriental Unisex fragrance Britannia. Best New Independent Fragrance went the Marina Barcenilla’s Black Osmanthus.
People’s Choice for Men, as voted by the users of Boots.com was awarded to Boss Bottled Intense while Best New Male Print Campaign went to Gucci Guilty.
The award for Best New Female Commercial went to the star studded Stella McCartney POP (to read more about the campaign click here).
Next up is the awards for Fragrance Design & Packaging with the Best New Female award going to the ever fashionable Missoni EDT and Best NEW Male award going to L’Envol de Cartier.
Best New Celebrity Fragrance was awarded to Stash by Sarah Jessica Parker, a celebrity whose fragrances have stood the test of longevity where others have drifted away. Best New Home Fragrance was awarded to Fig Ambrette from The Perfumer’s Story collection by Azzi Glasser, the lady best known as the perfumer to the stars.
Best New Male Fragrance in Limited Distribution went to Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino Forte and Best New Male Fragrance was awarded to L’Homme Prada. Finally the award for Reader’s Choice for Women (as voted by the Readers of Elle UK) went to By Invitation By Michael Buble.
