Clarins Hand & Nail Treatment Cream truly deserves the status of an iconic beauty product. This is no ordinary hand cream. It softens, protects, moisturises, reduces the look of age spots and last but not least strengthens nails. Now, Clarins have introduced three limited edition scented versions – Orange Leaf, White Tea Leaf and Fig Leaf.
Jean Paul Gaultier, the ‘enfant terrible’ of the fashion world, first launched the ladies fragrance Classique back in 1993 and since then has brought out numerous limited editions over the years. Le Male followed in 1995 and has also had the limited edition treatment. 2016 is the year Gaultier has given the originals the Eau Fraiche treatment and in a clever marketing twist has enlisted the help of Betty Boop & Popeye to promote the fragrances.
Classique Eau Fraiche was created by nose Daphne Bugey. Top notes which make this fragrance sweeter than the original include Lemon Sorbet, Ginger and Sugarcane. In keeping with the floriental Classique, the heart of the fragrance contains Exotic Tiara, Jasmine and Orange Blossom while the base includes Vanilla, Musk and Neo-Labdanum.
Nathalie Gracia-Cetto is the nose behind Le Male Eau Fraiche. Top notes include Neroli, Mint & Aldehydes and the heart includes Sage & Sclarene molecule, which is appartently dry wood notes of Clary Sage, Woods and Ambrox. Base notes contain Vanilla, Tonka Bean and Sandalwood completing this Woody Oriental fragrance.
In true Gaultier style, a cartoon strip accompanies the collection and is available on http://www.jeanpaulgaultier.com adaptly intitled ‘Spinach & Stockings’. Betty Boop is the female star with a curvaceous corset in the style of the Classique bottle while Popeye as the male star wears a classic striped Gaultier t-shirt. The fragrances themselves come in the classic tin can, to quote JPG “like the ones for cat food at the supermarket”.
Classique Eau Fraiche Eau de Toilette 100ml and La Male Eau Fraiche Eau de Toilette 125ml are available now putting the fun back into fragrance.
Life has been a bit hectic of late, I decided to do an online course, work has been stressful, my health has been on the poorer side and life in general is a bit full on. So what better time to try out the thisworks Energy Bank range which landed on my desk earlier this year. I have been a long term fan of thisworks products especially the Deep Sleep range (www.lilyandolive.wordpress.com/2015/10/16/thisworks-deep-sleep). Energy Bank is an aromatherapeutic range based on an original bath oil blend created by thisworks founder Kathy Phillips in 2014.
