Think of Missoni and the following comes to mind – Italian, Colour, Pattern, Knitwear, Fun and Family. The new fragrance is most of these things! Missoni describes this fragrance as dedicated to the sensual and exuberant woman who lives in the now with ingredients of freedom, creativity & joie de vivre.
The actual ingredients combine to create a floral-fruity-woody fragrance by perfumer Quentin Bisch. Top notes include a trio of Italian citruses, Bergamot, Lemon & Citron combined with Pear. Middle notes, which to me make this fragrance stand apart, include floral molecules of Maholia (described as dense floral notes with undertones of Jasmine), Petalia (Givaudan molecule that smells like Fruity Rose/Peony) and Sambac Jasmine. Base notes include Sandalwood, Tonka Bean and Ambroxan. Inspiration for the unique bottle comes from the art of Venetian blown glass which blends shades of purple, fuchsia and green together.
The fragrance campaign was a truly Italian affair with creative director Angela Missoni bringing together Italian model and actress Elisa Sednaoui and Italian Oscar winning director Paolo Sorrentino. The advertising campaign was shot at dawn in a villa on the northern stretch of the Appia Antica Road in Rome. The music was specially produced for the campaign by Sorrentino, the dress worn by Sednaoui is vintage Missoni and the set decor is Missoni Home.
