NEW Marc Jacobs Decadence

Fragrance has become a large part of many a designers business over the years with houses such as Chanel, Burberry, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabbana, among many others, all offering a little scented piece of heaven to consumers who may not otherwise afford the luxury brands. Designers Alaia & Mui Mui entered the market this year with their 1st launches into the world of fragrance. Marc Jacobs is no stranger to this world having launched his 1st fragrance with Coty in 2001, Marc Jacobs for Women. This year he brings us his latest edition to the family with the launch of Decadence.

The most successful Marc Jacobs fragrance would undoubtedly be Daisy and it’s many editions such as last year’s Daisy Dream. While previous Marc Jacobs fragrances such as Daisy, Lola, Dot & Honey all conjure images of floral, fruity & lightness, the new Decadence plays on the image of good girl gone bad. Created in conjunction with perfumer Anne Buzantian, Decadence is a luxurious woody scent opening with top notes of Italian Plum, Iris Flower & Saffron. Middle notes include Bulgarian Rose, Jasmine Sambac and Orris Root and bottom notes include Vetiver, Papyrus Woods and liquid Amber.

The standout piece of Decadence is not in fact the fragrance itself but the bottle in which it is encased. The emerald green color with python patterned lid, gold chain handle and black tassel are all elements which are reflective of Marc Jacobs handbag designs. The bottle is designed to be carried by the chain handle as the lid is kept in place with magnets, but I don’t think I would risk it!

Decadence is available as as Eau de Parfum in 30ml, 50ml & 100ml. Be warned if you purchase the 30ml there is no black tassel.
