Gucci Bamboo Eau De Parfum was launched earlier this year but for me this is a new discovery, one I am delighted to have made. Bamboo is something a little bit different from Gucci and while launched in the Spring, for me is a perfect daytime fragrance for Winter when we tend to be surrounded by heavier fragrances.
Gucci Bamboo is classed as a Woody Floral and opens with Italian Bergamot. Middle notes include Casablanca Lily & Ylang Ylang with base notes of Sandalwood. For me this fragrance is at it’s best when the middle notes take hold. At first spray it didn’t grab my attention but as it developed I found myself coming back for more.
So why Bamboo? Gucci have been using bamboo as a material in it’s accessory lines since 1947. In fact if you search for bamboo on the Gucci European website you will receive over 150 results. Bamboo as a material is know for both it’s strength and flexibility, is powerful yet graceful and can thrive in almost any climate. Gucci Bamboo the fragrance is the essence of this. Powerful yet feminine, the fragrance has a inner strength yet retains a softness.
Gal Gadot a model & actress is the face of Gucci Bamboo possessing qualities of both strength and femininity in abundance. A former Miss Isreal of 2004, Gadot has served in the army and has featured in films such as Gisele in the Fast and the Furious series. If you don’t recognise her just her yet you will soon as she has been chosen as the new Wonder Woman.
If you are on the hunt for a new fragrance Gucci Bamboo is well worth a try and is available as an EDP in 30ml, 50ml and 75ml with a shower gel and body lotion also available for that all important layering.
