House of Estee Lauder Classic Parfums

Josephine Esther Mentzer, better known as Estée Lauder is a woman I would have loved to have met. Despite having no formal training she launched one of the world’s most successful beauty brands in 1946 and started trends that endure to this day. She was a marketing genius, credited with introducing the idea of ‘Gift with Purchase’ and she understood the importance of ‘word of mouth’ among consumers with one of her most famous quotes being “Telephone, Telegraph, Tell a Woman”.

NEW Marc Jacobs Decadence

Fragrance has become a large part of many a designers business over the years with houses such as Chanel, Burberry, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabbana, among many others, all offering a little scented piece of heaven to consumers who may not otherwise afford the luxury brands. Designers Alaia & Mui Mui entered the market this year with their 1st launches into the world of fragrance. Marc Jacobs is no stranger to this world having launched his 1st fragrance with Coty in 2001, Marc Jacobs for Women. This year he brings us his latest edition to the family with the launch of Decadence.

NEW The Body Shop Black Musk

I have very fond memories of visiting The Body Shop in Henry Street in Dublin and purchasing the all important bottle of White Musk, a fragrance launched back in 1981 which can certainly claim iconic status now. The Body Shop was mecca to my teenage self and I never left without something from the Dewberry range as well.

In recent years The Body Shop have extended the Musk range to include White Musk Smoky Rose and Red Musk but by far my favourite of these more modern fragrances is the recently launched Black Musk.

NEW – Clinique Aromatics in Black

Aromatics Elixir was first launched in 1971 as an aromatherapy fragrance and was Clinique’s first venture into the world of fragrance. Aromatics Elixir created by nose Bernard Chant and is classed as an Floral Chypre with top notes of Chamomile & Sage, middle notes of Rose & Jasmine and base notes of Patchouli & Oakmoss.
