NEW Jimmy Choo Illicit

Think Jimmy Choo and you instantly think of sexy, glamorous, beautiful shoes, but in 2011 Jimmy Choo added fragrances to it’s ever growing brand portfolio. As a huge Jimmy Choo shoe admirer – I’m not lucky enough to own a pair – I was really looking forward to their 1st offering Jimmy Choo EDP.

With top notes of pear nectar & sweet orange, heart notes of tiger orchid & toffee and base note of patchouli. The nose behind the fragrance was Olivier Polge who recently joined Chanel to work alongside his father Jacques. As Jimmy Choo’s 1st fragrance it had all the ingredients to be amazing but for me it just fell flat.

Jimmy Choo followed with Jimmy Choo EDT the following year and several others over the past few years such as Flash, Exotic, Love, Stars and a few variations in between. Of all the Jimmy Choo fragrances that have been released my favourite has been Jimmy Choo Man, that is until now.

Based on previous experience, I was not expecting much when this came across my desk but I was pleasantly surprised. This is my kinda of Jimmy Choo. Anne Flipo is the nose behind this Floriental fragrance. Top notes of ginger & bitter orange are followed by heart notes of rose, sambac jasmine with base notes of honey amber & sandalwood.

Sandra Choi, Creative Director of Jimmy Choo says “Illicit embodies the daring spirit of the Jimmy Choo woman. She is alluring, hypnotic and lives life to the full.”

Sky Ferreira whose resume includes singer, actress and model is the face of the campaign for Illicit and says “If Illicit were music, it would be a bit edgy, daring and sensual.

For me this fragrance is the one I spray when heading out for a night of serious fun. Those nights when you just don’t know if it will still be dark when you are heading home. You feel alive and nothing is impossible. You are ready for whatever the night has instore.

Jimmy Choo Illicit is available as an Eau de Parfum in 40ml, 60ml & 100ml.
